Kevy Nova: Songs

For years, I had wanted to write a song about the end of the world but I could never figure out how to approach it. Should I say how the world ends? If so, how? Should I go for science fiction or something more realistic? I just didn't know.

I ended up writing this song on Thanksgiving Day, 2005. I was feeling very depressed about what was happening in the world and wondered if man would really be the end of man. If things don't change, I think it is very likely.

One thing I like to do is play with common sayings and turn them upside down. It was WWI that was referred to as "The War To End All Wars" because people (rather naively) believed that if we one that war, there wouldn't be any more. Unfortunately, history has proven them wrong time and again. I think that someday there will be a "War To End All Wars" but it won't be in the way that people hope.

Don’t have fear for tomorrow, peace will soon be here.
Where there’s death, life will follow. There will be nothing to fear,
When there will be, when there will be, then when there will be Nothing.
So hoist your flag on the way up ‘cause freedom isn’t free.

So now let’s all stand united, with a resolve that is strong.
Our stance will never falter, whether we’re right or we’re wrong.
There will be no more fighting when we are done with this war.

After this war, after this war, there will not be Anymore.
