Kevy Nova: Songs
The Monster
This song is about a neighbor of mine who was Paranoid-Schizophrenic. He was fine as long as he took his medication but every few months, he would start to think that he didn't need it and then all hell would break loose. He'd smash his entire apartment. Chairs would be thrown through windows, tables would be turned into kindling, even the TV would fall victim to his psychotic fury until someone would call the police. Then a white van would pull up and men in white jumpsuits (it usually took about three of them) would tackle him and take him away to a mountain retreat. Three weeks later, he would be brought home to all new furniture, windows and television and told, "Now don't stop taking your meds again this time..."
Of course, three months later it would all happen again. I lived with this for three years until one night he came into my apartment at 1am and held me in my own kitchen with a hunting knife at my throat for 30 minutes. That was when I decided to move.
True story.
I have a problem in my head with the people living there. And upstairs and next door, and also outside. They're out to get me out to make me miserable. I act only in self-defense.
So here they come, from the Mountain House. Mountain People make me take medication. In a van, they bring me home, I feel much better now if not only for a week.
Then once again I'm so stressed out so what should I do? I'll kill my couch, I'll kill my chair and my table too. Now I'm calm and I can sleep, I just wish I had not also killed my TV.
So here they come, from the Mountain House. Mountain People make me take medication. In a van, they bring me home, I feel much better. Why is it they think I am...
Crazy? (paranoid schizophrenic)
So don't make noise, don't use the water. Don't touch my mailbox or I oughtta put you through the wall! No pets allowed, don't block the driveway. And if I only had my gun...
So here they come, from the Mountain House. Mountain People make me take medication. In a van, they bring me home, I feel much better now if not only for a week.
