My father lost his battle with cancer on September 2, 1999 and that is why I have decided that on September 2, 2010, I will try to give back some of the gift that he gave to me by playing guitar live on the internet for 24 hours straight to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
This is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it; the music, the movies and TV specials, the shopping, the crowds... I love it all!
I saw Santa at the mall the other day. He looks a lot taller in person. We talked for a few minutes but I kinda felt like he didn't remember me. Strange. Well, he IS getting up in his years. I shudder to think what Christmas will be like without him. When Les Paul died this year, everyone suddenly realized that they didn't really appreciate how awesome it was that he was still alive until he wasn't. I don't want it to be like that with Santa. Anyway, When Santa was leaving the mall, I followed him because I wanted to see his sleigh and meet Donner. (I know Rudolph is the star, but Donner's my favorite, I don't care what anybody says.) Unfortunately, I lost Santa in the dressing booths at Macy's. I saw him go in, but I must have just missed him when he came back out. I felt like a fool carrying all those carrots around for nothing.
